ICT Integration in real Life

ICT Integration means use of learning technology to introduce, reinforce, supplement and extend skills of learners. Most eye-catching point I captured from the article is ‘Integrating technology into classroom instructions is like cooking a meal for important guest; it requires a careful selection of ingredients’. Likewise, teacher needs to select appropriate instructional materials and preparations for to teach in the classroom. While integrating ICT in the lesson, it should be closely related to our lesson as a part of our lesson. It should not be apart from our lesson. There are also Middle and High Level of Integration and their characteristics. Basic level of integration shows that teaching using technology is more effective than not using technology. But they should be considered as indicating only a somewhat simple or basic level of integration. Because the new technological techniques do not involve a valuable change in the teaching and learning process from previous methods. The Middle Level of Technological Integration which shows that technology has a very important role to play, providing both students and teacher with crucial materials and activities. It supports traditional models of teaching by incorporating technology to supplement their teaching methods. The characteristics of High Level of Integration in which it improves existing conditions by adding new information in the learning. Create an opportunities for students to explore and learn. Perhaps we can add all the information we want. Add value to the activity which means it should have some value to our lesson and lesson should make some sense to the students. Lastly solve instructional problems, for example; for the complex concept like ‘Solar System’ teacher can clearly show them relationship through model and simulations.
